American Pancakes
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk and egg together. Gradually add the flour mixture to the milk mixture, stirring until just combined. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat, then spread a thin layer across the bottom of the pan using a spatula. Pour the batter, about 1/4 cup at a time, into the pan. Tilt the pan to spread the batter evenly. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown. Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, butter, or fresh fruit.
